Vintage Trailer Supply held a grand opening of their new showroom in Santa Fe, New Mexico, September 13-15, 2019, and we were invited to give a presentation on The Illustrated Field Guide to Vintage Trailers. We were happy to accept since we'd now be considered leading experts in the industry (that's how Steve Hingtgen flatteringly pitched it to us.) A few weeks before the event, we recorded a podcast with Steve about the grand opening. You can take a listen to it here: We ended up splitting the field guide team into two for the weekend. Bob and his wife Deirdre...

The Illustrated Field Guide to Vintage Trailers and Vintage Camper Trailer Magazine have teamed up to create an ongoing series of articles about...you guessed it...vintage trailers. The pieces have been appearing in the magazine since the April/May 2019 issue. Bob Thompson said, "What we're trying to do is to write more in-depth articles based on the entries in the field guide, but with updated information, new photos, and illustrations." Planning an event is tough work. When that event includes over 200 vintage trailers it gets even trickier. Rene Perret, who co-owns Downriver Vintage Trailer Restoration with her husband Jeremy, talked with us about what it's like to plan Washington state's largest vintage trailer rally and why after taking it over three years ago she still comes back for more.  Also, enjoy our first installment of Vintage Trailer Glossary Terms, where you'll learn that a canned ham is more than just what's for dinner. The Mt. Baker Vintage Trailer Rally will be held on September 3-9 in Lynden, WA and requires no pre-registration, so...

We recently received a message from Casey Kielbasa at our oops@vintagetrailerfieldguide email. We created this account as a place for our readers to inform us of any factual errors or oversights in the Field Guide that we should correct in future printings and editions. We've received a handful of these since the launch of the book and expected the typical correction of a year or suggestion for a manufacturer we hadn't included. But to our surprise, Casey wanted to let us know that we'll need to update the Holiday House history on page 150 of the field guide. We stated there are TWO known surviving Model X Geographics,...
